BLOODGENETICS is a young genetic diagnosis and clinical biochemical service company for hereditary haematological diseases. Our laboratory seeks a motivated person to work as junior or senior Technician.

Minimum requirements:

  • Education studies: Title of laboratory technician in clinical analysis or higher degree in Biology/Biochemistry/Biomedical Science or similar

Main Responsibilities

  • Expansion of the portfolio of BLOODGENETICS, including the development of new NGS-targeted gene panels in haematology.
  • Design, implement and conduct experiments related to research in new genes implied in new haematological entities by doing WES, WGS, RNA expression experiments (Fluidigm platform) in patient samples.
  • Supervision of technician work.

We are looking for a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher who is interested in joining a young and dynamic laboratory that applies state-of-the-art technology in Translational Medicine in haematology, RNA biology, Genetics and Iron Metabolism. We are located in the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital Can Ruti Campus, Badalona, Barcelona.
We are supported by national and international grants: CODYSAN2017 Towards the improvement of diagnosis and treatment in Congenital Dyserythropoyetic Anaemias and project SAF2015-70412-R Uncovering new molecular and pathophysiological networks in iron metabolism, (PI: M. Sanchez).

 

Main Responsibilities:
► Design, implement and conduct experiments related molecular links between haematology and iron metabolism identifying and characterizing new mRNAs regulated by the IRP/IRE system (Sanchez et al, Blood 2011; Luscieti et al., Blood 2017), and experiments in iron-related diseases, including congenital dyserythropoietic anaemias and other hereditary haematological diseases by doing genetic studies and using Next generation sequencing (NGS). Patient samples are provided by established partnerships with international clinical groups and national hospitals.
► Conduct data analysis and prepare data for presentation in peer-reviewed journals and at professional meetings.
► Prepare manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals under the supervision of the project coordinators.
► Liaise with and coordinate experimental duties with medical Doctors from national and international Hospitals.

 

Requirements:
► Molecular biology and extensive molecular cloning.
► Human Genetics in hematological/cancer field, use of NGS and CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing will be a plus.
► Tissue culture and biochemistry

The Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (IJC) is a recently founded institute combining basic and applied haematological cancer research.

We are looking for a highly motivated predoctoral researcher who is interested in joining a young and dynamic laboratory that applies state-of-the-art technology in haematology, RNA biology, genetics and iron metabolism.

The main research interests of the lab are to explore molecular links between haematology and iron metabolism identifying and characterizing new mRNAs regulated by the IRP/IRE system (Sanchez et al, Blood 2011 Nov 24;118(22):e168-79) and in fundamental research aiming to address the mitochondrial iron-overload phenotype in Myelodysplastic Syndrome patients. These studies are financed under the national and international grants: SAF2012/40106 Role of new IRP-target mRNAs in Cancer and Iron Biology, and DJCLS R 14/04 Deutsche Josep Carreras Leukämie-Stiftung Myelodisplastic syndromes: cause of mitochondrial iron overload in sideroblastic anemia (PI: M. Sanchez). Patient samples are provided by established partnerships with international clinical groups. We rely on cell culture and a wide variety of biochemical/genetic techniques.

Requirements:
